Welcome to Confirmation 2005

Confirmation 2005 will be a very special occasion. It is to be held at the Sydney SuperDome on Trinity, Sunday 22 May, 2005 as an Archdiocean event. The Sacrament will be conferred within Mass at two ceremonies. The times for these ceremonies are 12.30pm and 4.30pm. There will be no other Confirmations held in 2005. The aim of this is to allow candidates, and indeed all participants, an opportunity to come together and celebrate as a wider church community, an experience which today is very rare.

To help organise such an important celebration a Steering Committee has been set up along with three sub committees. These Committees are the Liturgy Committee, (ceremonies, music etc) the Logistics Committee (transport, ticketing etc) and the Parish and Ethnic Liaison Committee (general communication with parishes and ethnic communities, any questions or concerns). Each of these committees have distinct roles, to ensure that a most beautiful and sacred celebration is prepared. As parishes proceed with their own preparations, they will be supported and kept informed by these committees also.
